UMG, the world's biggest record company has identified certain
"assets" the company is prepared to sell from the UMG & EMI
catalogues in order to get clearance from EC competition
authorities for UMG's purchase of EMI, currently the world's
fourth biggest record company.
It has come to our attention that among the "assets" claimed as owned by UMG & listed for sale with EC officials are master rights to recorded material by King Crimson.
UMG does not own or control any King Crimson recordings or master rights.
A letter demanding UMG's immediate withdrawal of all claims to represent or control any interest in King Crimson recorded material has been sent to the company's CEO on behalf of King Crimson, DGM & its licensees.
