My thanks to regular DGMLive visitor ColinCoates for sending his thoughts about The Humans' show in Cambridge.

"Saw the Humans last evening at The Junction, not many of us, would guess 80 to100 folk. As you arrived soundscape playing, [made the atmosphere, no chart music being blasted], and the support guy, John Young, fine, very A.O.R./good

Back to the soundscape, with Robert coming on to play to it/switching it off to do another 5 to 7 min soundscape, [before starting bowed to us, the audience, talc on fingers, and "blessed" his guitar], beautiful, and no audience chat over it, wonderful...rest of the Humans came on and played for an hour, mainly the Human album, as well as new tracks in the making, Woman on the Moon and Suger Rush being the best. Highlights, Noise in your head, and We are the Humans blending into This belongs To You/final soundscape.

Robert at the back, mainly orange glow lighting, rest of lighting very dark, purple hues, only Toyah spoke to us, introducing the band and Mr. Wilcox ! Banter was about no drummer, the Cole’s, song titles, and glad she is in her 50’s !!

Encore was Boots as expected, and Purple Haze, hence the title of this review.

Sound could have been better, playing excellent, esp. interaction between Chris and Robert on guitars, a good evening out, esp. with the snow and a 100 mile round trip."
