THIS BLOG WOUNDS TIME

If like me, you're a fan of the artist Tom Phillips, you should go and take a peek at his blog where he is currently documenting a new painting as it happens.  Phillips' work is known to KC fans for the cover to Starless & Bible Black. When he got the job (his name was suggested to Fripp by Brian Eno), Phillips executed the work basing the interior sleeve on an older piece of his called Here We Exemplify.

The  oblique phrase "This Night Wounds Time" which graces the back of the sleeve is taken from page 222 of Phillips' ongoing work A Humument that Phillips first published in 1970 and is still constantly revising and expanding this mini-epic. Tom's main website has lots of other examples of his work over the years and you can keep up to speed with his exhibitions here
