Uncle Bill

Mr. Fripp please accept my sincere condolences, I’m so sorry for your loss

Common decency...
:: Posted by fishbonealice on January 04, 2013

Now, I have no time for Taylor Swift’s music (or for that of a lot of other acts - but hey! differences in taste are part of life’s rich tapestry!) but is it just me whose heart sank a little on reading Anthony’s post about her? Is calling someone a ’pratty twit’ posted in a ’spirit of goodwill’ as suggested by the Guestbook’s House Rules? Just because you dislike her music? Is saying her latest CD is a ’pratty release’ a ’considered opinion’? Mmm...

Anyway, wouldn’t it be nice to start the new year on a note of warmth and positivity? There’s enough nastiness and negativity about as it is.

A Happy and fulfilling New Year to you all.

Taylor Swift

My 8-year-old daughter received Taylor Swift’s "Red" for Christmas.  It grows on you after you’ve heard it a few dozen times.  The phrase, "Like, ever" will crack me up for the rest of my life.

Anyway, you can’t copyright an album title, at least in the USA.

Fuzz/Sustain Tone
:: Posted by luissidd on January 03, 2013

Mr. Fripp is well known fort those amazing guitar solos using a unique Fuzz/sustain kind’a tone, but beside of the effects, did anyone knows if there’s a technique (maybe vibrato) or a tip to get that tone?

"But you can’t tell Adrian Belew to play like the Four Tops or get into funk - it’s Adrian Belew, mother fucker! He was in King Crimson! Get with the program!"

Really? The guy who played in the Talking Heads big live funk band? And with David Bowie? Who wore a dress onstage with Frank Zappa? And subsequently recorded with Nine Inch Nails?

If you can’t tell Adrian Belew whatever damn thing you want, girl, the communication problem isn’t with Adrian.

So sorry

My condolences, Robert. Your diary entries have given us fascinating personal glimpses of the remarkable man. A life very well lived. His kind will not pass this way again.

Give Toyah and Patricia a special hug for all of us, for your Uncle Bill. A little love to send him on his new journey.

Duly pointed out a couple of months ago:

Red ???

So, Taylor Swift has released a new song and album, both by the name of Red.  Doubt she’s ever heard the original.

TAYLOR SWIFT
:: Posted by Anthony on January 03, 2013

PLEASE somebody tell me that freakin Taylor Swift had to pay Mr. Fripp and Co. EXCESSIVE amounts of that pratty twit’s money to use the word  RED  to title her latest pathetic release of "music" in the world !!!!    My holiday season was fairly ruined when , walking through a Walgreen’s , I saw her new album being jammed down the public’s throat with HUGE posters, banners , etc...    R E D  on the title.....    oh the horror of it all  !!!

My Sympathies

Very sad to read via the BBC that Bill Fripp has passed on.

My condolences and sympathies to Robert and Patricia.

The last of the 39ers has made the greatest escape of them all.
Solace, you have him so honoured.
