To be fair, Elvis had nothing to do with the release of "Having Fun With Elvis On Stage," possibly the worst album ever released by a major recording artist. His manager compiled it and reportedly Elvis was horrified when he found out it had been released. Just clearing that up because I’m anal-retentive. Bye! And BTW, a Fripp dialog-only album would be much funnier.

This kind of reflects something that I experienced as a teenager that probably changed the course of my own life.
In the late 1970s I studied Karate at an urban Goju dojo, under Gerald Orange. That Dojo was unique in ways that can’t easily be described, but it certainly transcended being a mere business. But about half way through most classes we would form a sort of procession that would be quick moving, the line-leader circling and cutting into the middle of the line (we had to dodge past each other quickly and carefully) and then, after a time, we’d line up and each of us wouldtake turns hitting the bag with the others clapping rhythmically. When hitting the bag one was supposed to project onto the bag whatever obstacle or anger or anything hiding deep inside and then wail away, similar to a primal scream therapy. If one did a particularly good job, the others would congratulate him or her for having tapped that deeper part of one’s self.
We had men, women, black folks (Sensei Orange was and is black), white folks and young and older people. But somehow, in that circle, I would get a strange sense that anything was possible, and that the collective energy we generated and experienced could change even the most reluctant of human institutions or conditions. And it wasn’t just a mere thought, one could feel it.
Years later I began practicing Christianity, but it was this collective "tribal force" that I sought out and, often, found in the churches (often but not exclusively black churches in Brooklyn). I have indeed witnessed or experienced things that defy normal rationality but that appear to be enabled by the presence of "The Bubble" (as I call it). Occasionally, I have sensed that force at rock and other concerts (eg, Crimson at the Savoy), or even sometimes at work (though this is rare). But it all for me goes back to my time at the Dojo on 88th and Amsterdam and that clapping-and-ki-aing circle of ferociously capable martial artists.

My 10 year old daughter likes Taylor Swift. She also likes In the Court of the Crimson King.
While Ms Swift’s choice of album title is regrettable, I’m remembering the objections my dad had to many of my music choices when I was young. Trying not to repeat that.
Pirate Bay Suing Anti-Piracy Site CIAPC For Copyright Infringement

I’m afraid the irony in this case seems to have passed you by. Pirate Bay are suing an ANTI-PIRACY organization who have copied parts of their website. TPB actually couldn’t give a toss about copyright on their site but who could pass up an opportunity to publicize the rank hypocrisy of the Copyright Information and Anti-Piracy Centre, who have stolen this data?

Elvis Presley released an infamous live album featuring nothing but the between song chatter called "Having Fun With ELVIS On Stage"
"Having Fun With Bobby On Stage" would make for peculiar listening with moments of drama and horror like the showdown with the audience in Detroit, December 1971. Can imagine some advertising blurb along the lines of - "He’s Raging! He’s Venal! He’s Hateful! Fripp out with FRIPP!"
What a Valentines gift that would make... for ex-partners!
