Burning(?) Question on Fripp & Religion/spirituality
:: Posted by mhairston on August 17, 2012
As a thoughtful non-believer, who nonetheless spends a lot of time pondering these things (and is married to a Christian), I have noticed over the years, many remarks from Robert on matters of spirituality. He seems to hold a rare, abstract, non-contradictory, intelligent, compassionate "philosophy of spirituality", the few leaked details of which have deeply intrigued me, and I am curious as to the nature/source of these beliefs. Is it purely Gurdjieff-related ("not for everyone" as Fripp has warned), is it purely derived by Fripp himself, or does it come from somewhere else? Of course, these things are very personal, but the teasing details dropped in various diary entries and liner notes ("Redemption", "Paradise Lost/Regained", etc.) have sparked my imagination. Could Robert or someone in the know offer any elucidation?
