re diary 27.6.12.

In today’s news, three elderly Kenyan gentlemen are in the High Court claiming they were tortured by British troops five decades ago in the Mau Mau uprisings. They also claim the British government/s has used all manner of formal and legal blocking maneouvres to prevent this coming to court.

When you’ve been abused, you’ve been abused. A further level of abuse is the denial that abuse has taken place. Perhaps the best available model is a Truth And Reconciliation Commission, as in South Africa, Canada,
Liberia, Sierra Leone, Britain and Northern Ireland.

From the early years of EG, David Enthoven and myself are reconciled. Forgiveness is our own responsibility; reconciliation requires all parties to be involved. The early stages of reconciliation involve the acknowledgement of error. A sufficiency of information regarding Dr. SG Alder’s EG is now available online for an impartial reader to take a view, but what would Sam G Alder Esq. say, to bring endless to a reconcilation: I lied to privilege my own advantage over the interests of clients to whom I had a duty of care! What Mr .SG Alder did say was: What have we done? We have nothing to hide! And Steven Fisher, his solicitor, wrote: My clients are renowned for their probity and sound business practices.

So, endless? That one I can’t answer. But how about a Truth And Reconciliation Commission for the music industry? Wow! Yow! I assume accurate accounting would be part of that, too. More wow! More yow!

19.45    On this evening in Boston, MA, my American Brothers of the Crimson family in The Crimson ProjeKct are appearing in support of Dream Theater.

The CP has my support and encouragement. And what of the promoters? The original advertising for tonight’s show…

The pic from c. October 1969 is impressive. I can understand any promoter making the “inadvertent error” of misnaming an act when it sells tickets. But using a band photo from 43 years ago is impressively dumb. A pic from The Double Trio Crim c. 1996 would be dishonest, but within the ballpark of sensible and easily-deniable deceit.

A pal notified me from their ticket-alert, I notified Steve Martin of The Agency in NYC, who wrote to the promoter, Mr. Dave Marsden of Live Nation

Please fix IMMEDIATELY on the Ticketmaster site for your show.

The correct billing is:

Crimson ProjeKct

As it's in every ad mat, radio spot and press release that's been sent out on the tour.

To use the other name, you'd have to add quite a few "zero's" to the guarantee.

It was perhaps unnecessary to indicate the last point to the promoter. My own e-mail…

dear mr. marsden,

should ever we meet, please remind me to spit on your foot.

sincerely, rf.

It is probably unnecessary to add that I have little likelihood of a profitable future-career in the music industry.

20.19 Off to more practising.

22.05    Done.
