12.48  II...  III...  IV...  Morning coffee at Nero…  … in the centre of town I…  II...  III...  IV...  Carrying the Wickedness to the Lyceum. 12.51 Lyceum. A conversation in the green room with the show’s drummer on the life of the working player. We share experiences of the industry’s staggering stupidity; which, if related, innocent DGM visitors would probably believe to be exaggerated, if not entirely fictional. A good was of presenting this, to innocents & disbelievers, might be: remember bankers’ bonuses & sub-prime lending? It is now widely known & accepted that much of the music industry during the 1980s & 1990s was fuelled by cocaine. I am sure that cocaine was never used on Wall Street, in the City & in investment banks. If it had been, things would have gone badly wrong in the world of financial services. Today’s first house is shortly underway. 19.56 A between-show walk & coffee for the dresser I…  II...  III....  The second show is underway. 22.18 Bredonborough. Leaving Sheffield c. 20.00. My life as a dresser is now at an end. Tomorrow, the Minx has one day off before returning to her final week of wickedness on Tuesday. We drove out of Sheffield with a temperature of -2.5C & the M1 hit -4.5C. The coldest spot on the journey home was just outside Bredonborough: -6.5C. Not Finland, certainly, not even the Bowery in winter with a vicious wind-chill coming in from the Atlantic to tickle a naked body in their morning shower. But, a sufficiency of cold for me.
