The Four Quarters Maintainers
arrived at 08.30. Steve Ball gave a generous intro & F&F walked onstage
at 10.01. Offstage at 13.33 with 2 intervals.
Interesting factoid from Steve:
The mention to Steve this past
Thursday evening en route to TTA: listening to At The End Of Time from Broad Chalke & the thought arising: this says it all; I have nothing to add to
this; while noting the widespread unpopularity of Soundscapes, the Broad
Chalke lunch performance only one example. Steve referred to his own
difficulties presenting Soundscapes to Microsoft people, following the Vista
sessions. Now this interesting factoid: in addition to 200 million Vista users
with the 4 note splash, an extract from the Soundscapes’ Vista sessions is
estimated to strike up 91% of 32 trillion times on the new MS Mail programme
this year. So, one of the planet’s least popular music forms will also be the
planet’s most sounded in 2008. This has to be some kind of a record.
