The Crepevine, SF.
A chill has just entered my heart. No idea why, what or how.
Perhaps someone within the family, close & extended, is having
difficulties. Perhaps it’s just cold in the Crepevine.
Morning listening: Miles, Arnold & Grumpy Ludwig.

companies bank on Brit award bounce £4m sales
boost welcome to counter piracy losses
Piracy? Is this a relative term? Like…
We pirate
you = a simple error while doing business to counter decline of industry
profits;
You pirate
us = copyright violation & theft?
I find this a little rich when DGM faces ongoing concerns
with under-accounting from EMI & BMG of serious proportions, and both EMI
& Sanctuary put KC material up for downloading, even where permission for
this was explicitly denied.
Ged Doherty, chief
executive of Sony BMG in the UK and Ireland and chair of the Brits organising
committee, has vowed to overhaul the image of the awards.
The image of the awards, and the image of the industry,
don't mean much to me. What is of greater value, and of immediate practical
effect, is the behaviour of the
industry. Like, prompt & accurate accounting.
The Four Pillars of The Ethical Company
Honesty
Responsibility
Equity
Goodwill
transparency + straightforwardness = honesty
accountability + owning-up = responsibility
distributive justice + fairness = equity
common decency = goodwill
