18.30 Deepest Dorset. Home via DGM World Central. Alex, David & myself are looking at the third in the DGM Sampler trilogy. Another excitement for today: Napster is going to court in the US to defend itself. This is part of a large & complex debate which addresses the use of music, who controls the supply of music, who pays for the use of music, who gets paid for the use of music, and who controls the behaviour of listening communities. Part of this is technological, but far less an issue in principle than most commentators seem to have judged. Without a doubt, more later.
