Bredonborough.
An e-communication to the DGM
Team…
team - i hate the advertising. i can bear the blue google
adverts, but when things flash, and there are young women in t-shirts, and
links to KC bootlegs on e-bay & ringtones, this upsets me.
shall we turn it off immediately?
Periodically, I address &
re-visit situations which have not worked for me before; such as tour buses,
touring, photography & autography, even meeting innocent audients who only
want to say hello. Having previously arrived at a considered position, from
time to time I review that position & ask:
has the situation changed?
have I changed in respect of the
situation?
is it time to revise my position?
Mostly, my guidelines &
working assumptions as to what is a right course of action for me, when tested,
are confirmed. This doesn't imply that the right course of action for me is the
wrong course of action for others. It does
mean that what is not right for me, is not for me to take on.
An experiment doesn't succeed or
fail: it acquires data. The data I've received so far suggests that the site is
better without advertising. One good practical outcome of going too far is
that, afterwards, we can say: I’ve gone too far - that’s not for me.
Advertising on DDGM Live, in any
presently conceived form, is not for me.
