08.39 One Thousand and One Days: the traditional period of application, sufficient to exhaust enthusiasm and provide the seeker / apprentice a taste of the qualities of exertion, application and persistence necessary in the acquisition of discipline. Traditionally the injunction comes with the rider "however long One Thousand and One Days may last". This online Diary began on July 21st. 1998. The 1001th. day following that was April 17th. 2001, the day before my Sister's birthday. The sun is shining once more - hooray! I have just spoken to Toyah - yippee! She is visiting her parents on the way back from Manchester, where she was appearing on "Heaven & Earth" this morning, to London. I didn't envy her the drive from Southampton after the play last night. This morning's pencil frenzy: a pile of ideas are waiting for me to recognise their form. I am looking at trees. The trees are telling me to see the forest. Yes! Yes! I call out in return, and see lots of trees.
