Bredonborough.


An English Summer day.

The back door…


Morning reading: Country Life for May 31st. 2007…


… and among the properties advertised for sale…


… is our former home in Evershot, West Dorset. West Dorset & Bredonborough were the two areas we were looking at when we moved (1999) from Reddish House in Broad Chalke, Wiltshire, but we found nothing suitable in Bredonborough. Our present & future home appeared in August 2001 when we on the Avon, boating past the end of the garden, with Codger Beric Willcox. We moved here in November 2001, sold the Old Mansion in 2002, when it became a cooking school. Now, clearly it has moved again.

Thirty years ago, a substantial family house such as this came on the market perhaps every 30-40 years. Then, in the late 1980s – early 1990s the average turnover period fell to 7 years; and the Old Mansion has changed hands in 1999, 2002 & 2007.
