19.31 DGM HQ, Wiltshire. Dribble dribble. On this day, one year ago, John Miller flew away. I don't believe John ever knew the extent to which he was part of our home & marriage. His paintings, major & minor, letters with small water-colours & messages, are all over our home. We visited Sancreed House in West Penwith, where John was then living, during our honeymoon. John was a remarkable man. Michael & Ceely Finn also died last year, Ceely in February & Michael in April. They lived in St. Just, also at the end of Cornwall. Michael's crosses, often made from found materials, are well known. His paintings & wooden "constructions" are less known. We treasure all of Michael's work. We aimed to visit our friends in Cornwall every year but the upheaval in our lives, particularly since 1999, prevented us from visiting these three friends in this period. And they died. Thank you, God, for the lives of John, Ceely & Michael. The remaining Cornish painter in our home, and fortunately he is in good health, is Brother Peter Willis, now in Falmouth translated from Newlyn. It was Peter that introduced us to both John & The Finns. A most enjoyable supper with Toyah and her pals last night, after the show. Now, I am faced by a pile of stuff. Behind that, there is a pile of stuff. Both these piles of stuff rest on a pile of stuff. Dribble dribble.
