17.34 Venue, Helsinki. Arrived at the hotel last night at 23.40. The kitchen closed at 23.30. This is an Hotel Acceptable but not in a vibrant part of town. The Happy Gigster's Guide says that whenever there is a late check-in, look out for construction sites, main streets with early garbage collection and views. The view at the front of the hotel is over the river, and quite beautiful. My room is at the back. A Room With A View --
We are on the seventh floor, which has access to the Club Room and complementary breakfast. So up at 06.10 for a quiet early breakfast & read, then back to bed. The Club Room featured Simon & Garfunkel - Live on the Noise Pollution Unit. The Club Receptionist asked if I wanted it. No. I hate it she said (implying background music in its generality) but we're not allowed to turn it off. We agreed it should be turned down. To the venue at 15.00, rewriting some Lunar Module programmes to better fit in the jam, line check done, now to practising --
