Rising at 08.00 from an improvising event with Jamie Muir. Billy B was also there. It felt very good to be with Jamie again, and to be part of his creative currency.

David and Indeg are in, also Mr. Stormy and Buddy the Wonder Dog…

Declan Panegyric has just called. Discussing inter alia our current  dissensions with UMG and the next step.

In the inbox…

Despite these precautions, if taking all the risks to own your own masters as a precaution, we frequently find ourselves in the current ram-dam of the internet and attitude of the record industry whereby "we exploit your records without having the right - come get paid when you find out"... the accumulation of law suits and class actions in the U.S. notably against Universal for on-line exploitation reiterates the attitude that the majors have taken against the hand that feeds them...

13.20    Kitchen discussion with David, mentioning Paul Mason yesterday on Start The Week. Mr. Mason’s take on the raison d’etre of the Occupy movement: the conviction that the world is run by rich people for rich people. So, record companies run the record industry for record companies? The UMG way-forward is to do whatever it likes, and then use lawyers to block the violated from seeking accountability.

18.48    David has just hurtled home. A telephone call from his Wife reminded David of his promise to be home for 18.30. David lied.

An evening computing ahead.

00.17 A little Rough Music: the former head of The Royal Bank Of Scotland has been stripped of his knighthood. DGM and myself are clients of The RBS. In 2007 they were in touch: we weren’t paying them enough in service charges, they claimed, and suggested our charges should be increased to £10,000 per annum; this without giving any specific reasons for the proposed increase. For what? we wondered, and said no. Nothing more was heard from The RBS on this subject of raising charges for no reason other than The RBS wanted more money. Clearly, someone in the bank saw something coming.

Done. It waits…
