Leaving home c. 12.50 to find roads of the West Country on halt. A fatal accident on the M4 near Bristol closed that motorway with queues back to Wales. Traffic on the M5 was halted for 10 miles J21-23 by those heading towards Glastonbury. Reportedly, once off the slip roads of the M5 the journey along country roads took c. 4 hours, the speed of access governed by parking on the Glastonbury festival site.

Making good progress until J21, it took 75 minutes to cover 10 miles. At the end of this, Into Chagford for a refreshing cup of coffee...

Re: Robert Fripp is coming to my college
by Mr.Food on Mon Jun 22,2009 1:33
I was running around like a twat all day when he came in, so I didn't manage to see it. I popped my head in for like, 5 minutes at the start. He didn't say hello or introduce himself or anything; he just randomly started pulling 'volunteers' out of the audience and out of the people who were coming in. He got them all to stand in a circle around him and clap once, one after another as fast as they could, so there would be a fast rotating cycle of claps. He still hadn't said anything to the audience at this point. After a little while he sent all the clappers back to their seats, then asked the audience what they thought he was trying to achieve. At that point I had to go. Looked interesting.

Not quite sure how Mr. Food arrived at this, given (Diary for Tuesday 12th. June, 2009)… The first 45 minutes began with a personal introduction. I did not anticipate many of the students having familiarity with my work; when I was the same age as the students, I was impressed that a man of 63 might still be breathing, let alone retain powers of independent locomotion. Three assumptions presented, and people were invited to state their aims.
