ProjeKct Phwoarr!!:: Posted by DrDick on May 14, 2008 The last 10 years of
Crimsonising have been heavily shaped by the groundwork of the ProjeKcts…
ProjeKcts Crimson remain, IMO, a mostly unacknowledged
achievement which holds its own with classic Crim of any period. Given the
small, mobile & multi-unit nature of it organization, based in improv, it
is not easily grasped as a conceptual & musical undertaking to placed
alongside, for example, any particular formation of Crim + accompanying album +
major intercontinental touring. Nevertheless, the ProjeKcts Crimson continue a
mostly unacknowledged achievement which holds its own with classic Crim of any
period.
The Techs are alright::
Posted by albemuth on May 13, 2008 As someone said below,
The Tech review appears in a University newspaper. It is pretty well done for an undergraduate
student.
Mr. Albemuth seems to be suggesting that two
requirements for undergraduate students proffering pretty well done opinions in Uni-news are ignorance & bad
manners. Older rock-persons might comment that undergraduates, expressing
contrary & rebellious views indicative of spirit & youthful attitude is
not intrinsically a bad thing. Perhaps, if the undergrads presented
well-informed critiques, even without politeness, this would strengthen their
position? Personally, where opinions are publicly expressed, I prefer them to
be based in reflection on best-available data and/or insight & points of seeing.
And whereas we can acquire information as we get older, an in-dwelling sense of
courtesy, if undeveloped during our early upbringing, is less easily acquired
in adulthood. One unfortunate result of expressing dopey views, rudely, in
public is that people might mistake us for a clueless pillock.
The whole thing about
photography and taping is so monumental now that I don’t see the point of
touring anymore.
This is pretty much the question I have been asking,
on the Diary & elsewhere, for several years.
And even though I have not taken a picture at a show
for the last 30 years, and have never taped a single show, I am not willing to
attend a Fripp show with his worrisome views and disposition. Something
is bound to screw up!
This is also a close approximation to my own position.
Perhaps I should stay home, too?
So, all in all, mucho agreement with DGM Guestbook
posters this morning.
11.22 Off to the
gate.
12.55 EST UA7276 Austin>Washington Dulles.

Yippee! On the way home to the Minx & Willyfred.
Yippee!
This is a commuter flight with little personal space,
2’30” in the air. I have moved from my allotted confinement-zone to the rear
row. The seat does not recline, but I have two of them. The stewardess came
back and told me: this is the first time
anyone has done this! How to reply?
Perhaps, there is no booby banging my
elbow & emanating discomfort & dis-ease, permeating my energy field?
Sounds like a convincing explanation to me.
17.08 Red Carpet Club, Washington Dulles.
E-flurry done. To the gate.
19.10 UA918 Washington>London.
The in-seat screens for movies
& map are not working in much of my section. A full flight.
