Regarding miracles, incorporeal entitites and God’s intentions:: Posted by albemuth on October 21, 2007

“... I do not believe that anyone can, with supernatural power, cause the blind to see, the deaf to hear, the mute to sing and the lame to walk in any literal way...”

As a working player, whenever a performance comes to life with audience, music & musician taking off together (and Baby Blue, I have been there) – now, this is miraculous. Ears that hear, eyes that see are not supernatural, merely rare & unusual.

Hearing-with-expectation is one form of deafness: posters in the golden days of ET reported characters sitting behind them, discussing volubly their fave rave classic KC show over 20 years before, failing to hear / see / connect to the performance in front of them. Hearing-with-recorder: another form of deaf. An audient with camera / viddy machine: one form of blindness. No wonder-worker appears and forces hearing & sight onto these innocent audients - in any literal way – against their will & invitation. The miracle begins with a change of attitude. When our attitude changes, something becomes possible.

And love, with sufficient juice, would get me on my feet & singing.

clueless:: Posted by nykfury on October 19, 2007

Hah! Being clueless how can I possibly distinguish what is a clue and what isn’t?!

When the top of our head blows off. There are other indicators, although this is one of the more dramatic.

12.49  E-frenzying across a variety of subjects, including touring accomodations, KC scheduling & responses to Crafties.

An arising discussion point at DGM Live - how to approach the impossible: acting in the market place without being governed by the values of the market place. Business in the market place is not the action; it is restriction & limitation on the action. The specific under consideration is advertising on the DGM Live site. I recall reading Robert Heilbronner (at Eva’s falafel house in the East village c. 1980) responding to the question: what will children learn from advertising? His answer: that adults lie for money.

The developing online consensus seems to be:

the public prefer free to paying;
where free comes with a price, the price is to be avoided & circumvented;
primary forms of circumvention include file-sharing & theft.

Most sites use advertising as a way of monetising their online presence. Peter Gabriel has recently adopted a dual platform: free of advertising & you pay for downloads; free-free & you accept advertising with it, and the artist shares in the advertising income. In an imperfect world, this is one good approach.

DGM Live’s current approach is that lotsa stuff, including primo tracks from download albums, are hot, tickling & free; within the overall framework that audients pay for downloads from their hard-earned pay, although this gives them no additional rights (such as recently discussion in extenso on this site).

The position DGM Live are considering is this: advertising that will trigger only when a free download / hot tickle and / or a diary is being accessed. That is, the site is free of advertising, unless any visitor goes to a service that is being provided gratis; because, at our end, all "free" comes with a price tag to us in time, money & energy.

15.58  More e-frenzying.

WillyFred has moved into lodgings with Barbara & Beric. Mr. Cheese is in action at World HQ remedying faults that developed in the recent flooding / downpours; a meeting with Mr. Gardener to discuss future plans for the gardens of World HQ: establish the boundary, delineate the space, determine the form, then move to content; that is, planting.

18.23  Practising.

A call to Sister, discussing the future of Fripp & Fripp speaking.

20.56  More practising. To settle.
