Croydon Hall, Somerset.
Rising at 06,00 and leaving Bredonborough 06.55…
A good journeying, arriving here at 09.00…
… to a tasty buffet breakfast. Tony H arrived over the table, the first Systematician of my acquaintance in 1974.
Inaugural Meeting at 10.00 with participants introducing themselves. Several superb presentations, introductions, formulations.
My own introduction: reading, in July 1974, the Inaugural Address to the Second Basic Course Course at Sherborne House, the top of my head blew off. Shortly afterwards, meeting Systematics, which struck me as a clear way forward. In the 37 years since, every Systematician who has explained the notions has managed to draw a veil, even a curtain, across the seeming clarity. My contribution to the course, to listen: every player needs at least one person in the audience listening. A hope: for a new-generation person to re-write the DU for the contemporary world.
A 15-minute leg-shake and back c. 11.40 for Ben B to present an Introduction to The Life And Work Of JGB. Superb. This should become a book. Lunch at 13.00 and moving into Room Acceptable I…
Continuing after lunch with comments until tea at 16.00.
Ken S, the archivist of much of JGB and Sherborne House talks and events, presented after tea until c. 18.50.
Conversations along the way, throughout the day, with inter alia Bill S, Jerry T and Ken S, touching on a sense of Convergence: of various threads, lines, thinking, people. Also the Era of Accountability: holding our Power Possessors to account. In an external sense, holding those in positions of responsibility to act and abide by declared standards of behaviour, honouring their duty of care. Rough Music with the left foot.
Dinner and a free evening. Speaking to the Minx and Sistery Patricia.
