Monasterio Nuestra Senora De Los Angeles (Monjas Dominicas), Sant Cugat, Spain.
Rising at 06.09.
09.02 Sitting at 07.15 and 07.30.
Breakfast at 08.00. Guitar meeting at 09.30.
11.18 Two Circles, the Inner of 11, the Outer of 21 guitars.
Beginning by bringing part of the attention to the soles of the feet; to the top of the head; and to what is in between. To what is in front of us; what is behind us; what is above us; what is below us. Returning part of the attention to the feet; then, to the right hand.
When ready, please begin. C. 9 minutes.
Please choose a note, any note. When ready, please play this note and respond as the music suggests. C. 20 minutes.
Two left the Circles to work in the kitchen. A large Circle of 29 was configured, with lots of nasty scraping sound of the chairs on the floor.
Notes moving to the right; to the left. Two groups, moving to the left and right with returns. Ending with three large, directed Sprang! chords.
Free dispersal from the Circle at 11.16. Beginners, and those who feel value in beginning-again, to return to the ballroom at 11.30 with four Buddies in the corners.
12.23 Lots of scraping of chairs as a Circle, to accommodate 18 guitars, was formed.
Passing notes around the Circle. Into two groups and passing notes in 5 and 7. The Four Buddies divided into two groups and demonstrated how this might be. Perhaps six or seven very-much beginning-Beginners are meeting with Luciano in the Room Of The Board at 12.15. The Mezzo-Mezzo Beginners are meeting in the ballroom with Mikael, Ivan and Marco at 12.15.
12.59 A catching-up with Dr. Mike. To lunch.
13.45 Comments invited on the course so far…
Fun. Strange. Undiscovered muscles in the back. A little deep joy in the morning sitting, a new experience.
And more. Our work for this afternoon was called and is on the board.
Housework at 14.30. Beginning-Beginners and Mezzo-Mezzo Beginners at 15.00.
16.24 Tea at 16.00 with the closest thing to dessert that I can recall at this time of day. Very tasty indeed.
Alexander group meeting with Pia at 16.45. A few words on the Morning sitting at 17.30. T-ai Chi with Luciano at 18.30.

20.43 Dinner at 19.00. Visitors have arrived to eat our food.
Comments:
On the tuning. Boobyism. Tom has found his place in the Beginning-Beginners and as a direct result of that they are now rapidly moving towards expertise.
Tom was asked to tell us all what to do this evening, and gave the job to Alessandro…
Rapidly-Advancing Beginning-Beginners in the Room of the Board at 20.45. House of Guitars at 21.00.
Comment on the use of energy: unintentional action is expensive and wasteful of the little energy available to our personal economy. With Intentional action, nothing is wasted. Recommendation: paying attention to the first footfall over the threshold into the ballroom for the House of Guitars. This confers definition, clarity and certainty to the experience. We may revisit this experience some time afterwards and, because it is definite, certain and clear, we may re-enter that experience which remains available to us, and interrogate it.
22.29 An intentional footfall into and out of the ballroom.
The Rapidly-Advancing Beginning-Beginners meeting with Tom almost didn’t arrive, so were given some prompting.
When ready, please begin.
Three pieces emerged, all c. 20 minutes, quite wonderful to these ears; and on the evening of the first full day of a Beginners’ Course, quite remarkable.
Guitar Craft emphasized the guitar: the craft of guitar-playing was primary. With this, we could play with others.
The Guitar Circle emphasizes our participation in the Circle, our working with others. This is the primary aim, the guitar the means.
A brief meeting with Tom.
22.39 To the Team…
interesting currents in the air.
it would be useful to learn if any new forms of acting, initiatives, appearing forms & vehicles, were whizzing your way.
brief thinking: we have four centres: europe, south america, west coast & east coast of the US.
i have a sense of the next stages for europe & south america; and seattle, knowing things are interestingly in the air for you there.
but i don't know what victor sees...
a wave from hotness & an orchestrina of wonder, now on the first evening of the first full day of a Beginners' course.
