Wonderful! 11.05 On the street for MinxDirt…  Synchronicity…  The current Country Life’s international property supplement is a view over Menton, and one of the roofs on the cover is the roof under which we will be sleeping tonight. Ready to go with a front-door call for the KevinMobile at 11.15. 12.45 Birmingham Airport. The KevinMobile didn’t arrive, so a quick call and another local taxi-person ferried us here in the HoxeyMobile...  Kevin ‘phoned as we were about to go through security procedures: he mistook our collection-time for 13.15. A simple mistake. 22.03 Chateau Willcox, Menton. A light-flight…  … arriving at Nice c. 17.40. Into the waiting JohannMobile, arriving Menton c. 18.45. While driving the wrong way down a one-way street, our taxi-person gave a Gallic shoulder-shrug of the kind well-known to Happy Gigsters with experience of traveling France, Spain and Italy (but not Germany, where the populace would have turned out to shout at this unlawful behaviour by the taximan, perhaps even have boxed his ears). It’s a Sunday and I’ll drive slowly! Our driver could have been a roadie; and perhaps he is, in an alternate universe.  On the street shopping, with tasty galette supper on the way back. Surprisingly unwarm for the Cote d’Azur at this time of year. Jacketed up, a walk to the Napoleon Glacerie, which is currently only open on weekends.
