09.34
Hotel Acceptably Modest, Bourne End.
Rising at 07.25 in a modestly dribbling state. Arriving at the breakfasting trough at the beginning of the second shift, the noise pollution unit was set to exceptionally quiet. This was a good beginning to my breakfast. Soul Hits Of The 1960s were wurbling away as my finger guided the decreasing-amplitude button to a better sonic balance between the sensibilities of hotel guests & hotel laws: quiet-enough-so-that-the-tunes-are-unrecognizable and loud-enough-so- the-staff-can-claim-the-noise-pollution-unit-is-providing-noise-to distress-the-atmosphere-and-most-nearly-anyone-with-ears.
The young Eastern European man, functioning as a serving person while not quite able to function in the English language, was exceptionally solicitous and helpful. He did a better job that I would have done in his position.
09.45 Who am I? A quick answer: wherever my attention is, is who I am. This then becomes a practical question: what is the quality of my attention? If my attention is attracted willy-nilly, without regard for my consent, I am likely to be whoever-anyone-wants-me-to-be. If my attention is volitional, then I am closer to being whoever I wish to be. If my attention is divided between my functioning - what I am doing - and my observing-of-what-I-am-doing, my experiencing is more likely to be that of someone living inside this body, this human animal, and its interests, feelings, bright notions and good ideas; and what it’s getting up to. When, on rare occasions, I experience a complete separation between perceptions and what I am doing, maybe then I have a taste of who I Am.

10.03 Of to Studio Jakko.
19.14 Our six songs are now fine-tuned I…
II...
… and sounded superb at 14.35. Jakko has some alternative mixes for inclusion on the CD & we listened to these until 15.15.
Then into downtown Berkhamsted & shopping for birthday cakes that might be useful for Brother Peter’s birthday party tomorrow in Cornwall. Back to Studio Jakko to collect a burnt CD of JF&C, tomorrow’s driving listening, and returning to my quiet room somewhere near water but nowhere near smoke for once-again-packing…
… and e-flurrying.
A call from the Minx. She is very excited about the final mixes of The Humans II.
