Web 2.0
Joy, Joy and Visions of the Future as I stare at the first privileged secret draft of the new Vicar site. Perverse little pleasures like scrolling through "Hot and Steamy Vicar News" by moving Punk’s underpants up and down. (And yes, I do realise that sounds very strange, but all will be revealed at the right time) Maybe Web 2.0 is more than just a catchphrase. How long before dgmlive follows. Back in the old world, I notice (cue narrowing of lips and grinding of teeth) that nearly a week has passed since Punk embarked on his new career as a twitterati...and thus far he has made precisely ONE tweet (which has, I suspect, been read by no-one, with the exception of his great aunt - who I have always suspected may be fictional anyway). This does not feel like the future, nor the way for him to amass an audience for his next round of video blogging. Answers on a postcard, please. Or even a tweet. ( I sadly remain unconvinced that "tweet" is a useful addition to the language of Shakespeare, Keats, TS Eliot or even Peter "Land of Make Believe" Sinfield). Admittedly our "Hotel Modest" in deepest Wales boasts neither wifi nor cellphone coverage, but if this blog can reach DGM via carrier pigeon, then so I am sure can messages from the boy wonder. Perhaps under Cameron’s Tories, impalement on a pointed stick will once more be legalized as a form of employee encouragement.
