Notes
“A good, supportive audience. . .had a good hearted group to play to them. But, as far as we could tell, probably not our best performance” said Robert at the time. But what does he know eh? He’s just the guitar player after all. Several tracks from this gig would later turn up on the triple live album, Heavy ConstruKction but this is first time the whole kit and caboodle has been officially available. Having been forced to use a borrowed PA Trey observes that the opening sound felt limp and wimpy. The band compensated by playing some of the tunes faster. “I felt myself rushing ahead of the beat with every bar. . . Eventually we found our stride and the sound came together… The audience seemed generally pleased with having us there and we did three encores. Thrush was stunning with a spinning solo from RF and nice ending from myself. We did a new Projekct X improv in the middle of tonight's show and Adrian showed like a demon. Yes!”

Pat & Trey have just left. We have been Crim-vibrating over a glass of wine in my room.

The performance: the sound was utterly different to the sound check but, overall, open spaces are better sounding for us than nearly all the venues in Germany. But tonight was cold & the first time when I've wondered whether my fingers are too cold to play "FraKctured". My nose dribbled at one point.

But a good, supportive audience (with punctures) had a good hearted group to play to them. But, as far as we could tell, probably not our best performance.

Witlessness abounds and synapses fail to quite explode. A shower awaits and a new day for Crimsonising. We heard from Richard Chadwick last night that the freight costs of getting our equipment to Australia are prohibitive so, regrettably, we won't be Antipodeanising the Crim following Japan. But we tried. We would have played for nothing, but we can't lose.

Why haven’t I reviewed this before? It’s been blasted out of car and house speakers for over a year and simultaneously inspires me to make music and makes me want to give up.

The improv is mind blowing and Thrush is better than any version available (except maybe for the recently released Japanese concert).

Certainly one to be played very loud.
