Notes
Ever wanted to know what happens after the edit on the storming Asbury Park or the fade out on that contemplative solo on Easy Money? Well now you can find out! Presented uncut for the very first time using unreleased mixes from the multitracks without Eddie Jobson overdubs (as on USA), the power of this gig is tangible. Despite the internal politics and tensions of the period, the band taps into a ferocious energy that never stops burning. Wetton is especially inventive, infusing the material with a brutal force. At the other end of the sonic spectrum Frippís sparkling clarity produces a consistently powerful performance that must rank amongst his very best. From the grumbling rasp of LTIApt2 through to the ecstatic demands for an encore, this is a classic Crimson show in every respect. Indispensable.

I understand why some people prefer the edit of "Asbury Park". However, it sounds like after the USA cut ends it goes into an entirely different improv, as if itís 2 different attempts, all within the same track. The last 4 minutes arenít as solid and it sadly peters off with no real close, but itís still great! Iíll take it! Itís still one of the most excellent examples of KC improv ever. But the real revelation here (since our lives were already changed by "Asbury Park" in USA) is what comes after the edit on "Easy Money" WOW Honestly, itís the best "Easy Money" I can think of ever hearing. Itís SO amazing. If it were a separate track labeled itself an improv it would stand alone like that too. Itís a really incredible display of the power of this group. Iíd pay 10 dollars just to hear another "Easy Money" like this. There must have been more, it has so much potential for expansion.
