Notes
This track is now available for download as part of a bumper collection of Mr Stormy's Monday Selections Volume Four - Yes, his fourth year of treasures from the murky, cavernous DGM archives, torch in hand, fedora upon his head.
Taken from the multi-tracks of the Lizard recording this is Robert’s acoustic guitar parts on the first verse of Cirkus about as up close and as personal as it’s possible to get. We hear Robert in Wessex Studios, the backing tracks seeping out from his headphones. Then the first of those exquisite runs that dance and sting between the words. It’s interesting to note that at the end of this first pass Robert asks for a “touch of voice” to be fed into his cans. A wonderful moment in Crim-history in all its isolated glory!

What a coincidence! I haven’t listened to Cirkus in years, but I was just reminiscing about Fripp’s cool sixteenth note run as one of the first examples of his hard picking style emerging. Days later, it appears! Could this be fate? Or the music calling me? Or even me summoning the music to appear, or some other mystical semi-reality? Ultimately I chose what I believe the most enlightend perspective: What a coincidence!
